Henrik VII or Henrik Tudor, born January 28, 1457 at Pembroke Castle, died April 21, 1509 at Richmond Palace, was king of England from August 22, 1485 to his death. He was the first monarch of the house Tudor, and his right to the throne he claimed through his descent from the Lancaster house. He took over the crown by defeating Rikard III at the Battle of Bosworth Field, then uniting Lancaster and York by marrying Elizabeth of York, which ended the Rosor Wars.
